Safety is Your Right

Feeling Safe is Your Right is a pocket-sized handbook regarding gender-based violence. It was created for the immigrant community of Rhode Island, USA as a means to generate awareness about the rights, laws and local resources available to this segment of the population.

This project was created as part of a RISD course, Art for Social Change. The class collaborated with the NY-based social justice organisation Sankofa.org. The organisation enlists artists and performers to underline the message of equity and justice, in regards with issues of systemic violence, incarceration, immigration and income disparity, through creative means. As a class, we decided to engage with and reflect on these issues at a local level by collaborating with the Providence community.
